Worship Leaders as Spiritual Directors:
Skills for Leading Worship with Passion and Deep Soul

Sunday, March 6, 2006
2:30 – 5:00 pm

The skills, demeanor and spiritual depth of worship leaders can often make the difference between worship that feels “alive” or that which simply goes through the motions. How can leaders tune in to the dynamics and flow of the Spirit in worship—no matter its “style?” What skills enable leaders themselves to worship? This workshop will speak to those questions and more. Pastors/worship leaders and musicians are encouraged to come together and explore the importance of collaboration and communication.

Dr. Marcia McFee has preached, led worship, and taught workshops for churches and conferences across the U.S., Europe and Asia. Her credits also include extensive professional experience with renowned companies of theater and dance. She recently completed a Ph.D. in liturgical studies at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. and also received a Master of Theological Studies degree at Saint Paul School of Theology with a concentration in Preaching and Worship. McFee has been a guest lecturer at several seminaries in the areas of creativity and worship and was the North Texas Conference (UMC) Consultant on Worship & the Arts before beginning her Ph.D. studies.
