Pastor Kelli Beard most recently served as the associate pastor at Faith United Methodist Church in Orland Park. She has been in full-time ministry since 2008, after graduating from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Over the last 7 years, Pastor Kelli has served in a variety of ministry settings—a small-membership rural church, campus ministry, and larger suburban churches. Prior to ministry, she worked on the southside of Chicago as a faith-based community/union organizer. She was raised in the Roman Catholic Church, but discerned a call to ordained ministry and became United Methodist in 2005. Pastor Kelli was drawn to the United Methodist Church’s rich history of social justice and prophetic witness, alongside its balance with personal holiness and the inclusive, transformative grace of Jesus Christ. She is the oldest of three, with a younger brother in Arizona and a younger sister in Baltimore. She is a proud auntie to two nephews and a niece. She has a little dog named Scooter and a cat named Loki. While she humbly confesses that she is a White Sox fan, she looks forward to working alongside Cubs fans.
