Did you know that Mother's Day is the 3rd highest attended day in the church calendar year after Christmas Eve being 1st, and Easter being 2nd? Mother’s day is a very Methodist thing. After all, it was founded by a Methodist and the first celebration was in a Methodist church.
United Methodist have grown to understand Mother's Day as the "Festival of the Christian Home," which is a beautiful way to consider the inclusiveness of this particular day. This is a United Methodist term, and our tradition believes that we can use this as an opportunity to strengthen our homes as a place for living justly, celebrating the fullness of our creation as individuals and families of all compositions.
