She has played a huge part within Methodist Federation for Social Action [MFSA] - a justice-seeking people of faith, and with Affirmation: United Methodist for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, She also was one of the founders of Illinois Religious Coalition for Abortion Rights [RCAR] back in 1975. She has stood by Affirmation: United Methodist for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Queer Concerns from the beginning of this support group. She along with her husband, Dick, have supported the Queer community, along with women and people of color’s rights. She has wore many hats in the dealing within the church.
