What is a day off for a Pastor?
A “day off” is a Sabbath day spent attending to care of our household, time spent with family and time of rest and renewal. You can help to support your clergy staff by only reaching out with emergencies on our days off. Examples of emergencies would be you or someone close to you are seriously ill or dying. Examples of things that aren’t emergencies are an interpersonal conflict with someone at church (unless, of course, that conflict is resulting in danger of bodily harm) or scheduling a time to talk later in the week. This time is important for us to be able to sustain the work that we do for the co-op.
